Open Access Policy

International Journal of Social World (IJSW)

The International Journal of Social World (IJSW) follows an open-access publishing model. Published articles are freely accessible to readers, allowing scholarly research to be read, shared, and used for academic and research purposes without a subscription or paywall.

Open Access Publishing

IJSW provides open access to all its published scholarly articles and supports the broad dissemination of research in sociology, social sciences, social research, and related fields while maintaining continued access to its published academic content.

Articles are made openly accessible immediately upon publication, with no embargo period. Open access applies to articles published through the IJSW website and does not exempt authors from applicable Article Processing Charges (APCs).

Creative Commons License

IJSW articles are published under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0) License, unless otherwise expressly stated for specific material.

The license permits others to share, redistribute, adapt, and use the licensed work, including commercially, provided that appropriate attribution is given and applicable license conditions are followed. Users must not falsely claim authorship or misrepresent the original article, authors, or publication.

When reusing social research findings, survey results, interview-based research, or other published material, users should preserve appropriate attribution and avoid presenting the original findings in a misleading or distorted manner.

Copyright Ownership

Authors retain copyright in their original work in accordance with the applicable IJSW Author Rights and Licensing terms.

Publication in IJSW does not transfer copyright ownership to the journal. IJSW receives the rights necessary to publish, distribute, make the article openly accessible, preserve the published record, and maintain the official Version of Record, as applicable.

Authors are responsible for ensuring that they have the necessary permissions to publish third-party material, including photographs, interview excerpts, survey instruments, tables, figures, and other copyrighted content included in their manuscripts.

Reuse of Published Articles

Published articles may be reused in accordance with the applicable licensing terms. Appropriate credit should be given to the original author(s) and publication, together with the article's DOI or official publication link where available.

Third-party material included in an article may be subject to separate copyright or licensing conditions and should not be assumed to be covered by the article's license unless expressly indicated.

When reusing research involving human participants, readers and researchers must also respect applicable privacy, confidentiality, consent, and data protection requirements. The open-access status of an article does not automatically authorize the independent disclosure or reuse of identifiable personal information contained in the research.

Author Sharing

Authors may share the published version of their work through appropriate scholarly channels, including institutional repositories, academic profiles, and personal academic websites, in accordance with their applicable rights and licensing terms.

Authors are encouraged to retain the original citation, DOI, journal name, and publication information when sharing their work.

Researchers publishing studies on social issues, communities, human behaviour, public policy, or other social science topics may share their findings to support academic discussion and further research, subject to applicable licensing and ethical requirements.

For detailed information on self-archiving and reuse rights, please refer to the Author Rights policy.

Long-Term Access and Preservation

IJSW aims to maintain continued access to its published scholarly content. The journal makes reasonable efforts to preserve published article files, associated metadata, persistent identifiers, and the official Version of Record.

If IJSW participates in the PKP Preservation Network (PKP PN), a LOCKSS-based digital preservation service for journals using Open Journal Systems (OJS), the network may support the long-term preservation of its published scholarly content.

The preservation service is intended to support continued access to the scholarly record in the event of disruption to the journal's primary website or publishing platform, subject to the technical and operational availability of the preservation network.

Access to Published Content

Published IJSW articles are intended to remain accessible through the official journal website.

Where persistent identifiers such as DOIs are assigned, IJSW makes reasonable efforts to maintain the associated publication information and article links. Updates by external indexing, abstracting, repository, or discovery services are dependent on the policies and systems of those third parties.
